Seahawks make WR move amid Tyler Lockett injury
Story by Sam DiGiovanni
The Seattle Seahawks are just outside of the playoff picture in the NFC. They would be the next team to make it if any of the seven teams ahead of them fall down the standings. They face a tough path to the playoffs with matchups against the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets coming up and will have to be on
the lookout for updates regarding a Tyler Lockett injury.
Lockett suffered a finger injury against the San Francisco 49ers, putting his status for the rest of the season in doubt and forcing Seattle to make a roster move. According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Seahawks have signed Laquon Treadwell to their 53-man roster. The 27-year-old has been on Seattle’s practice
squad and has been active for three games so far this season.
In 70 career games prior to this season, Treadwell recorded 104 catches for 1,184 yards and five touchdowns. He’ll be used as depth behind D.K. Metcalf, Noah Fant and Marquise Goodwin in the passing game for Geno Smith. The Seahawks need all the help they can get against a great Chiefs team and a strong Jets
defense.
Tyler Lockett is eager to return for the Seahawks, who are 7-7 with one of the best offenses in football. He leads Seattle with 964 receiving yards and eight touchdowns while trailing just behind Metcalf with 78 receptions. Smith and the Seahawks are eager to return to the postseason and will hope Treadwell can step
up to help. Laquon Treadwell @SuccessfulQuon
Steelers Legend Franco Harris Dies at Age 72, Days Before Immaculate Reception Anniversary The Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Famer was set to have his number retired this weekend.

1955 - 2022
Hall of Fame RB Franco Harris has died at the age of 72, his family confirms. Harris’ No. 32 jersey was going to be retired this Saturday, the 50th anniversary of “The Immaculate Reception” play.
Franco Harris, the Hall of Fame Pittsburgh Steelers running back who was known for making a miraculous grab in the AFC Divisional Playoffs against the Oakland Raiders in 1972, has died. He was 72.
Harris’ death came days before the Steelers were set to retire his No. 32 jersey and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Immaculate Reception at Acrisure Stadium. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin talked about Harris’ catch on Tuesday when he addressed reporters.

"I was in Section 135 that day. I was eight months old. I think it's funny. Surprisingly, I’ve probably met 75,000 people that were there that day," Tomlin said. "It's just one of those beautiful things in the history of our game. It’s humbling to be in close proximity to it, to work for this organization, to understand its
impact on this organization, the career it spawned in Franco [Harris], a gold-jacket career, what it did for them that season in terms of changing the trajectory of that season, what it’s done for this franchise …
"There are many things that make it the play that it is and the most significant play in the history of our game. It’s just an honor to be in proximity to it. To know the man involved, to call Pittsburgh home, and so it's awesome to be a part of and to witness. But at the same time, we understand that we've got
business, we’ve got present-day business and the best way we can honor him and that is by performing. We're going to work extremely hard to prepare ourselves leading up to it."
WTAE first reported the shocking news about Harris. The cause of death wasn’t immediately known.
Harris’ son Dok told the Associated Press his father died overnight.

Harris was a first-round pick of the Steelers in the 1972 draft out of Penn State. He was named the Offensive Rookie of the Year when he rushed for 1,055 yards and 10 touchdowns. His prowess in the Steelers’ offense under legendary coach Chuck Noll quickly made him a big piece in the franchise’s dynasty.
He ran for 12,120 yards in all and won four Super Bowl rings with the Steelers in the 1970s. But there may not have been a dynasty without his heads up play against the Raiders in the 1972 playoff game.
The Steelers were trailing 7-6 and facing a 4th-and-10 from their own 44-yard line with 22 seconds remaining. Pittsburgh had won the division with an 11-3 record and raced a Raiders team that was 10-3-1 and hungry for a run to the Super Bowl.
Terry Bradshaw took the snap and threw deep to Franch Fuqua. The running back collided with Raiders defensive tackle Jack Tatum and the ball somehow made its way to Harris, who caught the ball and ran it back four a touchdown and the first playoff victory in the franchise’s history.
In 2020, the play was celebrated as the greatest in the NFL’s 100-year history.
"That play really represents our teams of the ’70s," Harris said at the time.
Harris would go on to play 13 years in the NFL – 12 with the Steelers and one wit the Seattle Seahawks in 1984 before he retired. He was a nine-time Pro Bowler and was an All-Pro once.

Vikings unleash stirring video of historic comeback against Colts
The Minnesota Vikings’ social media team has produced a gift for all fans of the NFC North champs. This is one to savor.
A fantastic video that chronicles the mind-boggling comeback, which saw the Vikings erase a 33-0 halftime deficit in Week 15 and staggered the Indianapolis Colts, 39-36 in overtime.
The Philadelphia Eagles excused Gardner Minshew from practice on Tuesday so he could attend the memorial service for Mississippi State coach Mike Leach, who died last week, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Leach was Minshew’s coach at Washington State and the quarterback recalled how authentic Leach was.
(Warning: there is a bit of salty language at one point)
Minshew might start Saturday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys if the Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts doesn’t recover from a sprained throwing shoulder.

Ja Morant puts back his own miss for game winner vs Knicks
Ja Morant won the NBA’s Most Improved Player Award, last season. However, given what he led the Memphis Grizzlies to, Ja deserved to win the MVP. After that, the goal has been for Ja to win the MVP. This season is his fourth year in the NBA. Last season, Morant put the Grizzlies back on the map. Not only did he
lead Memphis to a 56 win season, he also helped them land the second seed. In the playoffs, they took the Golden State Warriors to six games. Last night, the Grizzlies played the New York Knicks.
Ja Morant and the Grizzlies have gotten off to a slower start than expected. Many expected the Grizzlies to build off their momentum. With teams like the Utah Jazz and San Antonio Spurs tanking, there was an opening for Memphis. Furthermore, the early season struggles of the aforementioned Warriors, along with
the Lakers, provided an opening. Unfortunately, the Grizzlies also struggled to win games. Now, they are hitting their stride.
Ja Morant and his cohorts, the Memphis Grizzlies, were in New York to play the Knicks, last night. The game was close, throughout. This season, the New York Knicks are expected to compete for a playoff spot. That, along with being on the road, made this a tough game for Memphis. However, if they are to be
contenders, it’s a game they had to win. When it came down to the wire, Ja Morant did just that. His 360 layup was blocked, but he got a put back to seal the Grizzlies’ win.

The 49ers have a chance to crush the Seahawks' soul Thursday night, who then play the Chiefs and the Jets. Geno Smith makes for a great story, but Seattle’s defense is lousy.
The Lions are a team that I can see sneaking into the playoffs. They have the firepower, are getting better on defense, and have a favorable schedule with the Jets, Panthers, Bears, and Packers remaining.
Nick Bosa’s truth bomb adds more hype fuel to critical showdown vs. Seahawks
Story by Rexwell Villas
The San Francisco 49ers have a great opportunity to tighten their grip on the top spot in the NFC West division this comingThursday when they face off against rivals Seattle Seahawks in a game that Niners defensive end Nick Bosa can’t wait to play.
Via Cam Inman of 49ers.com:
“We’re definitely expecting an all-out war, probably similar to ’19, just really big stakes and two teams that know each other really well and don’t particularly like each other. Yeah it should be fun”
The 49ers are leading the NFC West with a 9-4 record, while the Seahawks are second with a 7-6. San Francisco also already has a win this season against the Seahawks, with the 49erds beating Seattle at home back in Week 2 to the tune of a 27-7 score. Bosa came up huge on defense for the 49ers in that contest,
as he had four total tackles with a pair of tackles for loss and two sacks.
Bosa has been a beast for the 49ers’ defense that enters Week 15 of the 2022 NFL regular season No. 1 in the league overall in scoring defense, as San Francisco is allowing only 15.2 points per game. Bosa is a huge reason for that, thanks to his disruptive play. Bosa is tied for No. 1 in the NFL with 14.5 sacks. He
was not able to get a sack in the 49ers’ win in Week 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, so there’s also extra motivation for him to get to Geno Smith in the backfield in the upcoming rematch.
But again, there’s no better motivation for Bosa and the 49ers to win on Thursday than the opportunity to further hurt Seattle’s chances to win the division and make the playoffs.
Seattle Seahawks: 3 bold predictions for Week 15 vs. 49ers
Story by Reese Nasser •
With the Seattle Seahawks set to take on the San Francisco 49ers in Week 15, this team is looking to earn themselves a spot in the playoffs. Ahead of this Seahawks – 49ers game, we will be Seahawks Week 15 predictions.
Led by veteran quarterback Geno Smith, the Seahawks have been one of the surprises of the 2022 NFL season. Entering Week 15, they find themselves at 7-6 and in second place in the NFC West.
The Seahawks will be taking on a 49ers team that is first in the NFC West at 9-4. This win would bring the Seahawks within one game of first place.
This matchup will provide a challenge for both sides. Smith and the Seahawks have been among the NFL’s most resilient teams throughout the entire season. In order to win this game, they will have to show this once again.
3. Kenneth Walker bounces back against a top defense
Rookie running back Kenneth Walker has been a force for the Seahawks since taking over as the starter. Following limited usage through the first three weeks of the season, a season-ending injury to Rashaad Penny saw Walker pushed into a key role.
Through 11 games, Walker has rushed for 649 yards and nine touchdowns on 138 total carries. In recent weeks, Walker has struggled to find his footing. Over the last three games that he played in, he recorded a total of 79 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 27 total carries.
This past week, Walker was sidelined with an ankle injury. This was the first game that he had missed during his rookie campaign.
A healthy Walker will play a key role in the Seahawks winning this game. The 49ers defense has been elite this season, and this team will need to be at full force.
Walker being at full force would make the 49ers key in on the running game. In turn, Smith could see more opportunities to push the ball down the field. This could be the key to beating a strong 49ers defense.
2. The Seahawks defense limits the 49ers offense
After looking like one of the best defensive units in the NFL, this Seahawks unit has struggled in recent weeks. Over their past three games, they have allowed a total of 93 points. This is more than they had given up over the prior five games combined.
Once again, the Seahawks will be met with a challenge lining up across from them. 49ers rookie quarterback Brock Purdy put on a show in his first NFL start, throwing for 185 yards and three total touchdowns against a strong Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense.
The Seahawks will also need to slow down Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle on this 49ers offense. While it will be no easy task, this unit could do it.
The 49ers will be without Deebo Samuel, but the rest of their playmakers will be ready to go. If the Seahawks hope to walk away with a win, this defense will have to shut down this offense. And they have shown throughout this season that they can do just that.
1. Geno Smith delivers for the Seahawks
Since earning the starting job for the Seahawks, Geno Smith has been a force for this team. On the season, he has thrown for 3,443 yards, 25 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions. He currently ranks in the top six in both passing touchdowns and passing yards.
Throughout this season, Smith has rarely struggled for this team. He has 11 games with at least two touchdowns. Along with this, he has been smart with the ball, throwing for two interceptions in a game just once this season. This game in Week 14.
In a 24-30 loss to the Carolina Panthers last week, Smith turned in arguably his worst outing of the season. He threw for 264 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. Even in the loss, he made several big plays.
In Week 2, the first time that Smith and the Seahawks took on the 49ers, the veteran quarterback struggled. He finished the day throwing for 197 yards and two interceptions. Since then, he has looked like a different player. He will have the opportunity to show this once again.
A big game from Smith could very well be in line. But it won’t come easy. In recent weeks, this Joey Bosa-led 49ers defense has stopped even the NFL’s best offenses. This includes limiting the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a combined total of 24 points over the last two weeks.
If Smith can take down this 49ers team, the 32-year-old quarterback could possibly earn himself another contract with this team.
Train Plowing railroad tracks after winter storm - December 2022 - Donner Pass
DONNER PASS, Calif. – If you thought snowplows only came on trucks, think again!
New aerial footage shows a train plowing snow off of railroad tracks in northern California’s Donner Pass in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Located northwest of Lake Tahoe, Donner Pass is named after the Donner party, which infamously became stranded at the site due to snowstorms making the route impassable during the winter of 1846 to 1847.
Up to 2-5 feet of snow covered the Sierra Mountains in northern California. To ensure the safe passage of people and cargo on trains, a locomotive cleared the snow from the railroad tracks.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray carted off field with scary-looking injury
In a rather concerning turn of events, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray went down with a non-contact injury in the first quarter of their showdown with the New England Patriots.

Jets’ Sauce Gardner taunts Packers with cheesehead until Allen Lazard knocks it off his head
The Green Bay Packers
Sauce Gardner knew exactly how to twist the knife after the New York Jets upset the Green Bay Packers 27-10 Sunday at Lambeau Field. But Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard was having none of it.
“Running off that field with that cheese on my head, that was a crazy feeling right there,” Gardner explained. “I’m never gonna forget that.”
“He played a good game. He’s very talented. Sauce, that’s a cool name, too,” said Lazard. “I can’t be mad. It’s just a little competitive spirit… No disrespect to him. It’s just, between the lines, we gotta get it on.”
Marshawn Lynch Makes His Thoughts On Russell Wilson Very Clear
Russell Wilson is currently going through a serious career decline through the first five games of his 2022 season.
Earlier this week, former NFL star running back Marshawn Lynch made headlines with a comment about Russell Wilson.
"I wanna make sure [Wilson] is straight in his mind. I really thought he was gonna retire a Seahawk," Lynch said during an appearance onThe Richard Sherman Podcast. "... I wanna reach out to him. Right now they're looking at him like a black sheep."
In his first year with the Denver Broncos — and his first year away from the Seattle Seahawks — the star quarterback isn't performing even close to the level we've come to expect from him.
Several of Wilson's former teammates, including Richard Sherman, have turned on him since his departure from Seattle. Marshawn Lynch is not one of those former teammates.
"If there's anyone who knows something about that, it's me. I've done been to the bottom of this league before when [expletive] counted you out, talked bad on you. I didn’t wanna see it in Seattle… now that he ain’t in no Seahawk uniform, I’m pulling for him."
Fans were glad to see Lynch support Wilson rather than pile on.
"Lynch sounds like a good teammate and seems genuine when he says he will reach out to make sure he’s ok personally. For some it’s easy to pile on and take jabs at a person when they don’t respond for your own personal self gratification. I’m glad he’s not doing that," a fan said.
"Sherman pissed that Lynch didn't join him on the Russ bash train lol," said another.
Lynch has always been a beloved player and it's not difficult to see why.
